Show Up Weekend

The truth is politics can be a big and daunting topic. We may be interested in politics, we may even feel called to be more involved in politics, but knowing the ‘how’, ‘what’ and ‘why’ can be frankly overwhelming.

That’s why at Christians in Politics, we’ve decided to dedicate a whole weekend to getting to the heart of what political engagement can and should look like. With a packed schedule running from the 6th-8th of November 2015, we’ll be dissecting everything from the theoretical to the practical.

And who better to guide us on this journey of political discovery than those that have already gone before us. The weekend will include input from current Christian MPs and others working on the frontline, as well as church leaders and specialists in political theology. This won’t be just a weekend dedicated to the art of listening, however, as there will be plenty of opportunities for discussions and questions too.

If you’ve been inspired by the Show Up campaign or any of the events of the last months we would really encourage you to take this opportunity to get alongside others and explore more about what it means for your faith to impact the public square. Our vision is that those attending this weekend will be inspired to join political parties; engage with local issues; and maybe even stand as parliamentary candidates in 2020.

Find out more about the weekend here including costing and booking. We really want the weekend to be open to everyone, so if money is an issue we have a number of ideas for how you can still be there, so contact us on info@christiansinpolitics.org.uk. Places are limited so don't delay!
